Common questions

Is it really free?

Yes. VersaTrader is free to use with no hidden premium tier: TA tools, paper trading, smart orders are all free. The plan is to keep it this way. Right now the app is in a closed, invite-only beta, so you'll need an invite code to create an account.

Is my API key safe?

Your API keys are encrypted at rest and never stored in plaintext. We recommend using keys with trade-only permissions, no withdrawal access needed.

Which exchanges are supported?

For live trading: Binance and Bybit today, with OKX, KuCoin, Kraken and Coinbase coming soon. For charting and market data you get all 12, no account needed.

Can I trade perpetual futures?

You can chart perps and paper-trade them today, for free. Open long or short positions with leverage against real market prices, with simulated funding and liquidation. Live real-money perp trading is rolling out as a VT Pro feature, so paper mode is the way to trade perps right now.

Why are OKX and OKX Europe listed separately?

OKX Europe is the MiCA-regulated European arm of OKX, so it lists only pairs quoted in EUR or USDC (529 of them). USDT is not MiCA-compliant and the other quote currencies belong to markets outside Europe, which is why the pair list is shorter than OKX Global's. They are two separate markets in VersaTrader, so pick the one that matches the account you trade on.

What are OKX Europe X-Perps?

OKX Europe X-Perps are not perpetual futures, despite the name. Open-ended contracts do not fit under MiFID, so each one is a dated future running to 2031, built to track its market the way a perp would. There are 102 instruments: 68 crypto, 30 shares (Apple, Amazon, Coinbase, Alphabet and others) and 4 commodities (Brent, WTI, gold and silver). If you expect a crypto-only symbol list, that is why Apple is in there.
